1. Images: same brain regions as during perception. (a duck vs an elephant vs an insect)
2. Features: Meaningful entities, parts of an image that are interpreted. Primitive cognitive features (frogs attuned to flies) vs. a function of learning in humans (radiologist sees features, other do not).
3. Amodal symbols: Not words, but frames, network theories, property lists -> knowledge structures that contain fixed structural information. Can be modelled by computers
4. Statistical patterns in neural nets: The way amodal symbols are represented in the brain.
