1. Images: same brain regions as during perception. (a duck vs an elephant vs an insect)
2. Features: Meaningful entities, parts of an image that are interpreted. Primitive cognitive features (frogs attuned to flies) vs. a function of learning in humans (radiologist sees features, other do not).
It is not likely that we distinguish the same features. This process depends on our pre-existing knowledge. As mentioned above, a trained radiologist will pay attention to specific features concerning his/her field of expertise, that someone without specific medical knowledge would miss out on.
